Source Water Monitoring Panel

Source water can be vulnerable to an accidental or intentional contaminant events. Monitoring an input water source can provide useful information to the Drinking Water Plants that process incoming water. Plants can shut their intake down should their Source Water Panel parameters change significantly.

Benefits of the Source Water Monitoring Panel:

  • Continuously monitor the quality of your incoming Source Water
  • Anticipate changes to the treatment process that are needed to react to storms, algal blooms, industrial discharge, chemical spills, reservoir stratification / destratification, construction activity, sewage spills and other natural or man-made occurrences.
  • Monitor water quality and have data to make a proactive decision to allow contaminated water to pass by your intake and not allow the water through your infrastructure that could led to expensive repairs or down-time.
  • Improve process control- make necessary changes to your chemical quantities before water enters the plant.
  • Improve taste and odor problems.
  • Improve process control – make necessary changes to your chemical quantities before the water enters your plant
  • Improve your response time to changes in your incoming water
  • One controller for all sensors
  • Can upgrade with a TOC Analyzer or Auto-Sampler
  • Test up to six parameters in one common trough, saving space and effort
  • One controller, the sc1000 for all sensors
  • Attach the SWMP to an Event Monitor for simplified Event Detection
  • Attach the system to Hach CityGuardtm software to be able to view the status of multiple monitoring sites at a a glance and drill down into the instrumentation as if you were standing in front of them, from the comfort of any PC with internet access.

Features of the Source Water Monitoring Panel:

  • Single Sample Inlet
  • Single Sample Drain
  • Easy to Install
  • MODBUS 485 Protocol for Easy Digital Communications
  • Easy to Clean – Simply Unscrew Top and Wipe Out or Flush Sample Trough

The SWMP:

Customize your Source Water Monitoring Panel by selecting from the following list of parameters:

Organics, UVAS probe- useful to monitor this parameter to see seasonal changes and accidental spills organic in nature

Ammonium, NH4D probe - May indicate presence of pesticides or other biological degradation of organic matter

pH, pH probe - Acid/base relationships within water

Conductivity - Inductive Conductivity probe- May indicate presence of ionic species; measures the total ionic concentration in water

ORP – ORP sensor - May indicate sudden changes for oxidative or reducing species introduced into the water

Turbidity, High Range - Solitaxtm t-line probe- May indicate some compounds or increased bacterial levels (can measure suspended solids as well if proper probe is ordered)\

Dissolved Oxygen - LDO probe- Sudden change may indicate toxic conditions that effect algal respiration or increased levels of bacteria using up all the oxygen. Can also be correlated with stratification.

Level – level sensor – useful for sample level inside probe trough (comes with system automatically)

Nitrate- Nitrataxtm plus probe – Nutrient level within water, agricultural runoff

Oil in Water Probe - FP360sc probe- can detect polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) or mineral oils
